On the Tacchi of Ogliastra

The journey Arbatax - Gairo Taquisara route and the Ogliastra foothills, we will admire the Cannonau vineyards, spectacular limestone cliffs that stand out among green forests and ghost towns. Unique and famous places, but always genuine and authentic. An articulated day, which passes by lightly and offers many ideas and many beautiful memories. You will meet the Guide dedicated to you directly in front of the Little Green Train, you will cross the flat territories of Tortolì, the ancient capital of the Marquisate of Quirra; after passing the Elini station, a few more daring bridges and you will have reached Lanusei at 10.30 am
Here we will leave the Little Green Train, and will go towards the terminus and board the GT bus, and will comfortably cross the mountain area that takes us to Gairo Vecchia (the Old town), the most famous ghost village in Sardinia. Once again by bus after the historical and photographic stop we will soon arrive in the green valley of Taquisara, nestled among the spectacular limestone cliffs of upper Ogliastra. Here we will have the opportunity to taste (included) some typical products accompanied by the famous "Cuore di Taquisara" cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic at your discretion). After the tasting, a 25-minute hike in the woods will lead us to the exciting exploration of Grotta Taquisara. Those who, however, prefer to choose to relax and enjoy the valley floor, will be accompanied to taste the famous Ogliastra culurgiones (typical Sardinian ravioli) accompanied by a good glass of Cannonau wine, concluding the meal with the most famous of sardinian desserts, Seadas.
In the late afternoon we will take the bus back to Lanusei station at 4pm, where the Little Green Train awaits us to take us back to the starting point, on the same tracks as in the morning but with new perspectives and panoramic views. We will arrive in Tortolì at 5.00 pm, in Arbatax at 5.30 pm, with the sea gradually becoming more and more present at the bottom of the valleys. A Unique experience and a day to remember.
