With the Green Train on the Tacchi of Ogliastra

The Arbatax - GairoTaquisara route and the foothills area of Ogliastra, among Cannonau vineyards, spectacular limestone cliffs that stand out among green woods and ghost towns. Unique and famous places, but always authentic. A full day, that will fly lightly and will give you many ideas and many good memories. You will meet your tourist guide, directly in front of the Green Train parked at the little station. You will travel across the flat territories of Tortolì, the ancient capital of the Marquisate of Quirra. Once at the Elini station, a few more unbelievable bridges and you will have reached Lanusei (11.30).
Here we will let the Green Train, to find it at the end of the line, waiting for us in the afternoon. Departing with the coach, we will comfortably cross the mountain area that takes us to Gairo Vecchia, the most famous ghost town in Sardinia. Back on the coach after the historical and photographic stop, we will soon reach the green valley of Taquisara, nestled between the spectacular limestone cliffs of the upper Ogliastra. Here we will be able to taste (included) some typical products accompanied by the famous "Heart of Taquisara" cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic at your discretion). After the tasting, a 25-minute hike in the woods will lead us to the exciting exploration of Taquisara cave. Those who prefer to relax and enjoy the valley floor will be accompanied to see a show cooking (preparation of the famous culurgiones), before tasting them in the restaurant together with a good wine, and then the typical seadas. In the late afternoon, we will take the coach again to arrive at the Lanusei station at 16.00, where the Green Train awaits us to take us back to te starting point, on the same tracks as in the morning but with new perspectives and panoramic views. We will arrive in Tortolì at 18.00, and in Arbatax at 18.30, with the sea increasingly present at the bottom of the valleys.
